Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Norton County Court Docket does not retain or log those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain a message sent by email only as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical details when a page loads:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved on a device that help show how visitors move through the site, including popular pages and common exit points. Analytics providers combine that usage data for us. A browser can block cookies, although doing so may change how some site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Norton County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of dockets or personal case records. It provides general directions to Kansas CaseSearch, Norton County District Court, and the Clerk of the District Court. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or profiles about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their own privacy policies govern submitted data, and each provider controls its retention and sharing practices. Review the relevant provider policy before searching.
Links to Other Websites
Links lead to clerk pages, court portals, Kansas CaseSearch, legal-aid groups, and outside services. The destination's privacy policy applies after you leave this site, so read it before sharing personal details.
Advertising providers may track activity across websites through their own systems to present targeted ads.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be disclosed to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Standard safeguards are used for collected data. No internet service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Data identified as belonging to a minor will be deleted.
Your Data Rights
Applicable privacy and consumer-protection laws may grant additional rights based on where you live. The Kansas Open Records Act, K.S.A. 45-215 et seq., concerns access to public agency records and does not turn this private site into a government record custodian. At a minimum, you may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. Any replacement will be posted here with its new effective date, so visitors should review the page periodically.
